March 30, 2008 - The Tri-Town Fire and Ambulance Company of Ulysses recently took delivery of a Cub Cadet Tracker four wheel drive Utility Vehicle. The unit was purchased from Moon’s Farm and Yard Supply in Ulysses with the assistance of John Moon. Funds for the project were obtained through the Pennsylvania Fire Service Grant Program. This unit is one of only four such vehicles now in use by Potter County Emergency Services Organizations. The vehicle will be equipped with a skid unit for use in wildland firefighting as well as emergency medical equipment for wilderness search and rescue operations. Future plans include equipping the unit with GPS capabilities for search and rescue operations as well as the possibility of a track system to enhance winter operations. Because of its small size and maneuverability it will greatly enhance operations in an off-road situation. This unit will be a great asset to all of the Fire Departments in the Eastern portion of Potter County.

Pictured above is Chief Roy Hunt (right) accepting the key for the unit from John Moon, owner of Moon’s Farm and Yard Supply. Others in the photo include (from left to right) Past Chief Harold Barber, 1st Asst. Chief Mike Healy, and President Cliff Wood and in the background Fire Police Bill Potter and Rescue Capt. Luke Lampman.
