Truck Roll Over on Rt 49
Wednesday, 14 January 2009

The Tri-Town Fire Company's first call of the year for 2009 would be for a tractor trailer roll over on State Route 49 near the cemetery. A truck carrying a load of crushed vehicles rolled over blocking the East bound lane of traffic. Initial reports indicated that there was a fuel leak involved and the county Haz-Mat trailer was requested. After further assessing the situation it was later recalled. The bulk of the incident would revolve around traffic control during the wait for the arrival of Portville Truck and the subsequent up righting and removal of the vehicle. It would be more than 6 hours after the early morning alarm before things were pretty much back to normal with Tri-Town crews clearing the scene at approximately 1330 hrs. Not only was there the removal of the truck itself involved but also the removal of all of the vehicles that were its cargo.

More photos of this incident can be found in our Photo Gallery.
